Network Engineer

We are seeking a competent, technically skilled and results-oriented Network Engineer to design, implement, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure so that connectivity stays reliable, secure and efficient. The ideal candidate has practical experience in enterprise networking, fibre optic infrastructure, wireless networks, network security and ICT infrastructure management.
Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure and maintain LAN, WAN and wireless network infrastructure.
- Install, terminate, test and maintain fibre optic and structured cabling infrastructure.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points and other network equipment.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks and implement appropriate optimisation measures.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and provide timely technical support.
- Implement network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls and network segmentation.
- Conduct network assessments, site surveys and infrastructure capacity planning.
- Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, configurations and technical reports.
- Perform preventive maintenance and ensure high availability of network services.
- Support implementation of network infrastructure projects and related ICT solutions.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certification in networking, such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent.
- At least 2–3 years of relevant practical experience in network administration and infrastructure deployment.
- Routing and switching technologies (Cisco, MikroTik, Ubiquiti or equivalent).
- Fibre optic installation, splicing, termination and testing.
- Structured cabling and network infrastructure deployment.
- Firewall configuration and network security.
- VPN configuration and remote connectivity solutions.
- Wireless networking and access point management.
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Network documentation and infrastructure management.
